Future civilizations may one day be perplexed by how obsessed we are by cats doing things on the internet. Maru would be the cat to quell their curiosity. Set up like a controlled scientific experiment, “Many Too Small Boxes and Maru” documents Maru’s attempts to squeeze himself into smaller and smaller boxes.
Maru (a male Scottish Fold in case you were wondering) resides in Japan, and almost 8 million people have watched his antics on Youtube. There’s a blog dedicated to his exploits, and he’s also been featured in the New York Times and Entertainment Weekly. I wish people found my own lack of special intelligence this compelling.
