Native Japanese honey bees can vibrate enough to raise their body temperature and use the heat to cook an invading giant hornet alive. The giant hornet is basically a scout for an invading army, and the honey bees deal with the threat by creating a kind of bee-driven easy bake oven.
The temperature in the hive reaches 117°F (the honey bees can survive 118°F heat, but the hornet dies at 115°F). And then it’s roasted hornet for dinner. My inner James Bond villain really wants to train a swarm to attack my many enemies.
